Located in Las Brisas de Santo Domingo, the Chiringuito Restaurant reinterprets the aesthetics of a ship stranded on the coast. Its design integrates materiality, surroundings and views, evoking the maritime spirit of the place.

Its structure of aged wood and corrugated concrete dialogues with the coastal landscape. Open and closed spaces generate fluid transitions between interior and exterior, sheltering from the wind and maximizing the experience of the environment.

LANDSCAPE INTEGRATION

Chiringuito perches on the lagoon, integrating with its surroundings through natural materials and a discreet volumetry.

Open terraces and protected access allow for a smooth transition between the coastal landscape and the restaurant's interior.

Concept

Inspired by local boats, the design conjures up the image of a stranded boat opening up to the landscape.

Materiality

The use of aged wood and corrugated concrete reinforces the connection with the maritime environment and port tradition.

Space

The main volume extends over the lagoon, creating a terrace that allows you to enjoy the view without barriers.

Experience

Protected from the prevailing wind, the restaurant offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with transitional spaces between indoor and outdoor.

Sustainability

The design seeks to minimise intervention on the ground, taking advantage of the orientation and natural protection of the site

SENSORY EXPERIENCE

The orientation of the building optimizes the views towards the ocean and gardens, creating an immersive experience for visitors.

The combination of wood, wind and sound of the sea transforms the space into a warm refuge within the coastal landscape.
